As the proud owner of Evexia Medical Weight Loss, I'm excited to share my journey with weight management with you.

My struggle with an unhealthy relationship with food has been a lifelong battle. Following the surgical removal of my thyroid, I found myself grappling with uncontrollable weight gain that seemed impossible to shed.

Few comprehend the challenges of weight loss and obesity as intimately as I do.

Embarking on my journey at 256 pounds with a BMI of 45, I felt defeated. I exhausted various methods, from Weight Watchers to Nutrisystem, and even explored extreme measures. In 2013, I underwent gastric bypass surgery, which proved pivotal in my weight loss journey. After a year and a half, I no longer felt imprisoned by my body. Shedding 130 pounds gave me a fresh outlook on life — and I was eager to fully embrace it.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic presented new challenges, and I found myself gaining 35 pounds. Fear consumed me as I dreaded returning to a state of morbid obesity. Aware of the risks of regaining weight post-bypass, I sought guidance from my endocrinologist, who candidly acknowledged the influence of my genetics and recommended trying a GLP-1 therapy (Semaglutide).

I firmly believe that weight loss struggles are deeply personal.

It's a reality defined by challenges like struggling to fasten a seatbelt on a plane, squeezing into a bathtub, or purchasing a larger couch for comfort.

Dedicated to helping others overcome these barriers, we've crafted a comprehensive weight loss program at Evexia Medical Weight Loss.

Thank you for entrusting Evexia Medical Weight Loss to support you on your path to improved health and wellness.

Owner & Operator

Julie has spent her entire career helping people live healthier lives. Initially, after obtaining a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Nutrition in 1997 from The Ohio State University, her journey involved helping people with nutrition management. Working as a Registered Dietitian, she helped patients understand how nutrition impacts their overall health. As fulfilling as that was, after 6 years she found that she desired to help people with more than just their nutrition. As a result, she decided to pursue a career in nursing with the goal of helping people more holistically.

Since obtaining a Master’s degree in Nursing again from The Ohio State University and becoming certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2006, she has been blessed with a very rewarding nursing career primarily spent managing adult patients with chronic diseases such as Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease.

With nearly 30 years as a healthcare provider witnessing the impact of those chronic illnesses on the lives of so many people, Julie recognizes the importance that comprehensive weight loss programs have on disease prevention. As one of the medical providers of Evexia Medical Weight Loss, she is excited to help inspire and guide people in becoming the best versions of themselves by achieving their weight loss goals, which ultimately will allow for better self-confidence, higher energy levels, and fewer risks of chronic illnesses.

In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with her wife Stephanie and sons Nathan and Jack as well as working out, playing guitar, tackling various DIY projects, and dreaming of living closer to the equator.
